PISTOL RANGE UPDATE
Work on the new pistol range is coming along. Our first work day was Sunday, May 17th. A lot of brush was cleared away and stakes were placed to locate the area that needed excavating and leveling. Our crew of workers consisted of Tom Jones, Tim McGuire, Ron Highsmith, Mel Baughman, Kyle Froese, Dennis Meyer, Jim Meyer, Ron Peterson, Ed LaBarre and Sheila Shambaugh. Then on June 14th, the large trees on the site were removed in just a few hours by Jeff Lazar and Mark Wunderlin (who is not a member) assisted by Jim Albertine, Ron Highsmith, Kyle Froese, Ed LaBarre, Pete Rydell, Tom Jones, Tim McGuire, Blaise Guzzo and Dennis Meyer. Great job everybody.

The next step is to get the excavation and leveling ready to pour a floor.

PICNIC AND ELECTION MEETING
Sunday, July 12th will be our annual club picnic and election meeting. The meeting will be fairly short. Two directors terms are up, Dennis and Claudia Meyer. They are three-year terms. If you are interested in the position or would like to nominate someone for a directorship, please plan to attend. In addition, the officers’ positions are also open for president, vice president and secretary-treasurer.

After the meeting, lunch will be served. The club will provide chicken and beverages, just bring a dish to pass and your own table settings and utensils. The trap and rifle ranges will be open after the meal if anyone wants to shoot.

SWAP MEET
The swap meet we held on May 23rd was a mild success. We only had six tables sold but a lot of people came in to browse. There were items available besides hunting and fishing equipment. We will probably hold another one in the fall, and any items will be for sale. A total of $140 was added to the scholarship fund. Thanks to all who participated.

HUNTER ED CLASS
Saturday, July 18th, from 9 a.m. to noon, the ranges will be used by the Stone Lake Hunter Education class. After noon, the ranges will be available for members’ usage.
